А что уважемые участники форума думают про т.н. co-op housing? Побывала на саите http://www.chfc.ca/eng/chf/home.htm так все красиво и волшебно что даже подозрительно Может у кого есть личныи оопыт? Или просто некоторые соображения на етот счет? Сыпасиба:)
You should be sure enough that the community you are entering is suitable to your lifestyle, background and even religious traditions. You should meet with committee first to become a new member. They will elaborate for you all the rules and responsibilities of becoming a new member. Some people just build co-op together, but IMHO this option of housing works for a group of people who somehow connected by occupational or social background.

You probably right. Because I am a super angry person and have very short temper - I prefer living in my own home with high fence to protect my neighbours and surrounding from myself.

Tashik, it's hard to say since it really depends on type of occupancy agreement. Check it first carefully and then decide if you would love to accept all the conditions they offer you.

Want to Start a Housing Co-operative?" A Conversation about the Basics / April 25, 2007 Time: 7-9 p.m. @ MHBC, 10867 - 97 St. (pink house)
Guest-presenter: Carol Murray
Context: unhappy with the insecurity/expense of renting, many Canadians are turning to co-op housing for a secure, affordable home in a community setting. It doesn't matter who you are: if you want to live in a co-op and are ready to accept & live by the terms & conditions of membership, you're welcome.
Housing Co-ops are controlled by their members, with voice & vote in all decisions about their housing. In a typical housing co-op, from one-quarter to three-quarters of households pay an affordable monthly charge. Housing co-ops operate at cost & housing charge rises only as the co-op's costs increase.
In a non-profit housing co-op you are a voting member who volunteers to help with co-op operations; you are part of a community where neighbours look out for one another living in housing that stays affordable because it's run on a non-profit basis and is never resold. And you are also part of a larger community through the Canadian Co-operative Association. Join us & learn about it!
About: Carol Murray has over 10 years experience as a consultant & facilitator, providing strategic planning, governance/management support to co-ops & non-profit groups in Alberta. She is also the Director of Co-op Development for the Alberta Community and Cooperative Association.
